FAQs

What is Westminster Village?

Westminster Village is a Continuing Care Retirement Community located on 40 acres in Bloomington, Illinois.  The Village offers housing for residents 62 years of age and older who enjoy the security and peace of mind that our campus offers.

Who owns Westminster Village?

Westminster Village is a locally owned and operated not-for-profit organization.  There is no connection with any church, health care organization, or other holding company.  Westminster Village has operated continuously since opening in 1979, which speaks not only to the financial stability of the organization, but to the commitment of management and the Board of Directors in providing for the needs of its residents.

Who may apply for residency?

Westminster Village is open to all applicants without regard to ethnicity, religion, sex or national origin who meet the required age and financial criteria.  Residents must be at least 55 years of age to qualify for a Willows Duplex & at least 62 years of age to qualify for all other areas of Westminster Village.  However, married couples are eligible as long as one spouse meets the minimum age.

When should interested individuals apply for residency?

Often times, there is a waiting list for apartments at Westminster Village so the sooner an interested individual applies for residency, the more likely it is that their desired apartment will be available when they are ready to become residents.  If you join the waiting list and are offered an available apartment, but are not quite ready to make the move, that is entirely alright.  You will not lose your position on the waiting list.  Keep in mind however, you must be able to meet residency requirements at the time you seek residency, regardless of how long you have been on the waiting list.
